Simba’s Story: From Miami-Dade Shelter to Naperville, IL
Simba originally entered the Miami-Dade shelter in Florida as a healthy young dog. Five years ago, he was adopted into what was supposed to be his forever home. But recently, he was heartbreakingly returned – confused, hurting, and no longer the same carefree dog they once promised to love.
When Angel Dog Alliance learned that Simba was being kept in the back of the shelter and flagged for euthanasia due to his medical needs, we stepped in immediately. No dog deserves to be abandoned at their most vulnerable.
Simba Needs a Naperville Medical Foster — Immediately
Simba has two tumors that require surgical removal and a broken front leg. The tumors can be successfully removed, giving him the chance to live a full, happy life with a family who will cherish a more mature, loyal companion.
His broken leg may require amputation, but if that happens, Simba will do what so many tripod (tripawd) dogs do — adapt quickly and thrive. Tripawds are incredibly resilient, capable of walking, running, and living joyful, active lives.
Through it all, Simba remains friendly, social, and eager to be part of the pack. He enjoys being around other dogs and simply wants to feel included and loved.
